It’s been a while since I’ve written a Self-Care Sunday newsletter so I thought we would bring these back since so many of you loved reading these each week.
I’d like to take this moment to wish everyone who is participating in Ramadan a happy Ramadan and best wishes for this month. Ramadan is a great opportunity to find the time for self care and a time for reflection.
There are a few things I’m going to make time for during this month:
-
Resting properly - getting enough sleep, napping, not doing too much especially as I’ll be fasting.
-
Eating whole foods - making sure I am eating enough protein, carbs and good fats, along with lots of fruit and veggies in the time that we are able to eat!
-
Journalling - along with my daily gratitude journalling, this is a good time for me to reflect on myself and do the inner healing I need to do.
-
Taking care of my appearance - sometimes we can ‘fall off’ when we don’t have the energy to take the time to make ourselves look good, but I want to make sure I’m on top of my maintenance routine because wehn you look good you feel good.
-
Make time for socialising with friends and family for iftar - this is a special time to bond with other people and connect over iftar, I’m excited to be hosting iftar at some point in the month!
-
Connect with God - I aim to go out of my way to connect spiritually and get closer to God, through prayer and learning about Islam.
if you’re celebrating Ramadan this year, what are some things you’ll be doing to make time for self-care?
Best,
Alisha
