If you’re on a self-care journey, or you’re just looking to level up your self-care, I can help you with this.
Each week I’ll be sharing my weekly Self-care tips, things I recommend, anything that I’ve been loving or has helped me get through the week, and really create my calm.
This week’s theme is self-care for busy women.
Now, I know how difficult it is to actually take a moment to just do absolutely nothing, or just take a moment to relax. I’m a Capricorn - trust me I can relate!
I want to help you this week to remind yourself that you are deserving of little moments to yourself.
You are allowed to rest, and resting is productive.
Here are my top tips for trying to find the time for self-care, when you’re a busy woman.
1) Create a morning routine
- Implementing a morning routine really will change your day. You will realise that you have allowed yourself to ease into your morning and you have set aside just a little bit of time for you.
- This doesn’t have to be a long morning routine, it can be as simple as waking up and doing some stretches, making a healthy breakfast and writing your goals for the day.
- Doing something invovling movement in your morning is so good for releasing toxins and to de-stress before you begin your day.
2) Create an evening routine
- As well as having a good morning routine, you have to have a good evening time routine to unwind for the night
- After a long, busy day, you really need a little moment to yourself.
- As a parent, or someone who has a busy household, you may find it challenging to even find 5 minutes to yourself, but allowing yourself to unwind in a way that works for you is the key here.
- Whether you make yourself a herbal tea before bed, have a long shower to escape the chaos and your stresses, this is something you can indulge in to find moments of self-care.
3) Add some luxury into your evening routine: ‘Coco-nuts about you’ Body Oil by a woman-owned Black small business, Asani Brand.
- This body oil is delicious to say the least!
- It is so quick and easy to apply, making it a perfect body product for my busy babes.
- There are a range of different scents available to purchase, but my favourite has to be the ‘Coco-nuts about you’ scent!
- I love layering this with a coconut body spray before bed, it truly makes you feel like you are giving yourself these little things to enjoy, even after a long day.
- You can also find the brand on social media, @asanibrand
4) Pick a self-care activity and block that out in your calender
- I mean it when I say, block out time as if you’re going on a date with yourself.
- Sometimes the only way you’ll actually take out the time for you is by putting it in your calender - as if you’re booked up for the evening!
- I have started doing this and trust me, you will not allow anyone or anything else to disturb your peace.
- Sometimes we get so caught up in life and work that we forget to treat ourselves - whatever treating yourself looks like to you.
5) Aromatherapy
- Of course I have to let you all know how therapeutic lighting a candle is…
- Even on a busy day, you need to find time to unwind.
- Some days are busier than others, but little habits like lighting a candle will remind you to take it slow, take it easy and just relax.
- I love lighting any candle I’m feeling that day, sometimes I’ll light them all! I really enjoy my bubble baths with candles around the bath - it really makes you feel like you’re at a spa.
If you have purchased a candle previously, it would mean the world if you could please leave a review on the product you have purchased! Let others know what you love about NOURIE x
Affirmation of the week:
“I am taking time to be present and intentional with my days. I am moving mindfully throughout my day. I am taking moments to pause and just be.”
